Take a look at the different interpretations of luxury they had when asked the million dollar question. Where would you choose…?
1. Rent out Necker Island
If money was no object… I’d rent out Necker Island exclusively for my friends and family, and throw one hell of a party! At £39,000 per night, it’s the ultimate billionaire’s playground where the likes of Ronnie Wood, Kate Moss and Lindsay Lohan have all partied. The whole idea is that you can do whatever you like here, and completely let your hair down – all with the most incredible villas, a zip wire down to the beach, and even Branson’s submarine to have a go in.
2. Do North America in a Winnebago
If money was no object… I’d take a year off work with my husband and travel around North America in a luxury Winnebago. The US is the ultimate road-trip country, with so much variation from state to state. We’d start off doing the classic Route 66, before hitting Highway One on the California Coast, heading into the Deep South for places like New Orleans, and driving the stunning Overseas Highway to the Florida Keys. Naturally we’d stay in gorgeous places along the way, like Amangiri in Utah and Post Ranch Inn on Big Sur.
3. Go Culture Crazy in Japan
If money was no object… I’m a massive foodie and culture-vulture so I’d fly first class to Japan and really immerse myself in the history and buzzing city life. Osaka is THE place for food around the world, and I’m dying to eat in the Michelin starred Saeki, which is meant to have the ultimate sushi. I’d also love to have a private garden tour in Kyoto; see an authentic Geisha tea ritual, and of course watch some sumo wrestling!
4. See Orangutans up Close in Borneo
If money was no object… I’m slowly ticking off my wildlife bucket list, but I’m yet to see my favorite animal, the orangutan. Deep in the Borneo rain forest, the Sepilok Rehabilitation Center is one of the only places in the world where you can see wild orangutans up close as they return to feed from wooden platforms. Whilst in Borneo, I’d combine with a Mount Kinabalu climb, visit former Headhunter tribes, and do some amazing diving off Lankayan Island.
5. Compete in South America’s Dakar Rally
If money was no object… I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie so I’d want to drive in South America’s famous Dakar Rally (a bit bonkers seeing as I can’t actually drive!). It runs through some of the most awe-inspiring and rugged scenery in South America, like the lunar deserts and salt flats of Chile. For post rally relaxation, I’d stay at Alto Atacama which looks out of this world.
6. The Ultimate Family Safari and Beach Holiday
If money was no object… My family and I have always wanted to do a safari and beach holiday in Tanzania: lying under the stars, ticking off the Big Five, and feeling a million miles away from home on the shores of Zanzibar. For the classic Serengeti experience, I’d stay at Singita Grumeti where you can relax in a plunge pool whilst looking out over a watering hole, followed by Fundu Lagoon in Zanzibar which has some of the best diving in Africa.
