At Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Oman, the turtles return year after year to the Sultanate’s shores and we are so excited that to date there are six nests along the idyllic beaches. The Turtle Care Project aims to protect both the hawksbill and green turtle species (sadly both endangered) as they return to nest. Mohammed, the hotel’s turtle ranger, is tasked with ensuring nests are sheltered as well as raising awareness amongst guests on the plight of the turtles through educational activities such as talks and viewings.
