NINA

I stayed at Nobu Ibiza for a week in August and loved it! It is a very cool hotel – beautifully decorated, delicious food and lovely pool areas.

The kids club was also fantastic. My daughter, Alberta, particularly loved pizza making in Chambao and learning how to be a DJ in the kids club. She would also go to their movie night which meant we could go for dinner, just the two of us, in any of the hotel restaurants. We absolutely loved Peyitoto the Mexican restaurant where the tacos and margaritas were to die for! We would usually nurse our hangover with one of the fresh juices from their juice bar.

JAMES

I stayed at the Myconian Villa Collection in June with 14 friends and thought the hotels (it’s a collection of five) were all fab for those looking to go to Mykonos and not wanting to spend top prices.

The service and the food were exceptional. All of the staff were so welcoming and attentive. The room I stayed in was very modern and functional with sea views. The spa was good – the massages were really good. The huge pool overlooking the ocean was large enough to accommodate all of my friends sitting together every day. No sun lounger issues here!

The location is up a steep, long winding road, so takes a little time to get anywhere else on the island but we thought it was a lovely family run group of hotels and super value for money. Plenty of restaurant choice and excellent Greek hospitality.

TANYA

We decided to try and be adventurous for one of our last holidays before our baby arrives, so Essaouira, Morocco was our destination this August!  Popular with local tourists because of the cool weather it was perfectly warm with sunshine during the day with a mild breeze at night.  We spent three nights staying at the boutique minimalist Riad Dar Maya in the medina close to the souk, hammams and excellent local restaurants – Caravan Café had the most vibrant of atmospheres with fire dancers, live music, family vibe and excellent food.

We then moved further afield for a gorgeous pool at Riad Boussala where Dominique and Leah entertained us with outdoor movie nights, the most delicious poolside burgers and their wonderful dogs Loco and Baya.  Don’t worry the husband didn’t get too bored with kitesurfing a short drive away on the local beach, meant to be the best in the area!

BONNI

When my son Luke broke up from school in July, we headed straight off for our 14 day trip to Sri Lanka. What a vibrant and diverse country, we saw so many aspects, from the work that goes in to us buying cashew nuts in the shop; making coconut oil; a lot about Buddhism and how to wear a sarong; bathing the elephants and even making paper out of the elephant’s poo. We stayed in five wonderful hotels and loved every moment. The Sri Lankans are such happy and friendly people. I thought Luke would get bored of the long journeys but he was enthralled with it all, no need for iPads there!

The itinerary we did was perfect for families. And I must make a special mention of our incredible guide, Udaya. He made our trip. We always felt safe with him, his manners were impeccable and he answered every question thrown at him. His attention to detail was amazing and he and Luke really bonded too.

LOUISA

We (our family of us and our 2 toddlers) stayed at The Abama, Tenerife in early summer and were so delighted with our findings! The apprehension of a large, rather hostile, ‘pink palace’ was definitely a worry, the website doesn’t do it justice! Large it is, but it really works and we loved it, and have since recommended it many times. I really think it’s one of the best family friendly hotels in Europe – and I have seen a lot now! We were in a suite, which was huge and perfect for our 2 ‘smalls’. The restaurants were delicious – particularly El Mirador, I mean… really delicious!! The kids club, swimming pools, little train and beach were fantastic for keeping them entertained – we have some wonderful family memories and look forward to returning one day soon.

SAM

We had a fantastic time at Club Med La Palmyere. We flew into La Rochelle and the flight was only an hour with approximately an hour’s transfer.

The resort is immaculate, the staff truly couldn’t do enough for us. The food was excellent.  La Palmyere is famous for growing Oysters and they were on the menu three times in the week we were there. I am embarrassed to admit that one evening I had nothing except oysters and bread….32 oysters!!

We did everything, watersports, tennis, cycling etc and had really good instruction from good English speaking staff.

The weather was a little cooler in the mornings which was perfect because we did activities in the morning and then sat by the pool or on the beach in the afternoons.

La Palmyere is only a 3 Trident Club Med resort so the accommodation is quite basic but if you’re looking for a fun active family holiday you can’t beat it.

ELANOR

After a week on the rainy coast of Cornwall (we picked a bad week) we jumped on a plane to Sardinia with Mark Warner for some sun and sea without wetsuits! And Perdepera didn’t disappoint. My three boys loved the kids clubs and huge amount of activities they could take part in from windsurfing to choreographing a dance show at the end of the week. As you would expect, the watersports instructors are exceptional and all facilities and equipment are top of the range including, bikes, tennis racquets and boats.

The accommodation is quite basic but we spent very little time in our rooms with so much going on. The food is simple but fresh and delicious and the beach was huge with soft white sand. There were fantastic pizza and ice cream places a short walk down the beach and we also explored the island by bike while the children were in the kids clubs. Mark Warner was perfect for us as a family as we got to do as much or as little as we wanted in beautiful surroundings.
