Our Travel Designers have skied the world from Aspen to Zermatt to curate the 360 Private Travel list of the most prestigious ski destinations for 2025/6. We’ve selected each destination for the world-class skiing, of course, but we know the best ski holidays are about more than just the slopes, so we’ve also ensured there’s magnificent Après-ski with champagne and fondue-fuelled evenings in alpine chalets, and that each of the ornate towns where you’ll spend your time is as pretty as a snow globe. And we’ve paired them all with our choice of some of the world’s best luxury ski hotels.

From the recent Aman rebrand in Italy’s breathtaking UNESCO-listed Dolomites and an iconic grand dame hotel in the heart of beautiful Zermatt, to the exquisite Fairmont Banff Springs, a castle in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, these are the luxury ski holidays to book for the 2025-2026 season.

An Alpine Storybook

Airelles Val d’Isère & Val d’Isère France

The Airelles Val d’Isère is a stylish Alpine hotel with ski-in ski-out access to the slopes and an unusually high level of refinement. Indeed, if you’re looking for the ultra-luxe experience you might associate with Courchevel, then the Val d’Isère Ski Resort is ideal. The area has long been a favourite of experienced skiers, but it’s equally well-served as a family destination, with over 185 miles (300km) of pistes with nursery slopes and legendary black rated pistes like La Face de Bellevarde. Off the slopes, the village of Val d’Isère is charming with a 17th-century church and classic Savoie après-ski: wine bars tucked into cobbled streets, boutiques brimming with designer clothing, and the mouthwatering scents of tartiflette pluming from local restaurants.

Posed elegantly on a mountainside in the style of a luxury Alpine chalet, the Airelles Val d’Isère hotel has a timbered façade and turreted roofline that appears as though plucked from the pages of a winter fairy tale. Inside, the mood flirts between warmth and sophistication, with rooms and apartments finished in wood and patterned fabrics, with roaring fireplaces, antiques and windows framing views of the trails. There’s a Guerlain spa with a grotto-like pool for post-ski restoration, delicious Japan meets Peru dining at Matsuhisa (from Chef Nobu), and Savoyard classics in the legendary La Grande Ourse in the village. Winter activities in Val d’Isère include ice diving at the Tignes’ lake, dog sledging, and, if you’re hoping for a challenge, climbing the region’s frozen waterfalls.

The Grand Dame with Matterhorn Views

Mont Cervin Palace & Zermatt, Switzerland

A halo of almost forty 4000m-tall peaks defines the stunning Zermatt, arguably one of the Alps’ chicest mountain resorts. And at the centre, Mont Cervin Palace, a luxury ski hotel that’s welcomed guests since the 1850s. The surrounding slopes are vast, with perfectly groomed pistes forming snowy bridges between Switzerland and Italy, offering everything from gentle glacier runs to exhilarating off-piste descents. The local mountains hold snow better than any other in Switzerland, and Zermatt boasts Europe’s highest pistes, so you can ski year-round, carving tracks across the Theodul Glacier between cups of steaming hot chocolate.

At the heart of Zermatt lies Mont Cervin Palace, now part of the prestigious Michael Reybier Hospitality collection. The hotel is sublime, with modern spaces oozing Alpine glamour, and the rooms encompass tastes as varied as subtly modern: the family duplex suite, all cream with subtle highlights, to rooms that are all about the view. For the latter, choose the Matterhorn Suite, with a jacuzzi, large fireplace, and the eternally snowy Matterhorn visible beyond Zermatt’s lovely rooftops. Arrive in Zermatt by train, and you can opt for a horse-drawn carriage to whisk you across the car-free village directly to the hotel, all the better if you’re arriving fresh from a first-class seat on the fabulous Glacier Express (ask your Travel Designer for the details!).

The Little Nell & Aspen, USA

Aspen is pure wintertime cinema: snow-dusted peaks rise above a town that glows like thousands of little embers in the evenings. The streets are lined with chic boutiques and cosy cafés. The air is crisp, scented with pine, and evenings are filled with crackling firewood and clinking wine glasses. With a collection of ski spots, including Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Snowmass, and Aspen Highlands, skiers and snowboarders of all levels enjoy plenty of choice. And that range continues off slope in Aspen’s downtown, a haven of culture with art galleries like the wonderful Aspen Art Museum, shaped like a woven basket, music venues, farm-to-table cuisine, and chic après-ski events.

For Aspen-bound skiers looking for luxury, we recommend the ski-in ski-out setting of The Little Nell in the heart of Aspen. With 92 rooms and suites, some with vaulted ceilings, mountainside or town-side views, each space offers a delectable balance of warmth and classic American luxury. For larger groups, a small collection of exclusive residences offers space for up to 10 people, with custom furnishings, fine art and unsurpassed access to the town and gondolas. A Renowned Italian Address

Aman Rosa Alpina & The Dolomites, Italy

A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Dolomites are the dramatic home to the vast Dolomiti Superski network with runs that range from nursery slopes to alpine glaciers. We recommend a base in the Aman Rosa Alpina in the cosy village of San Cassiano, behind which the Alta Badia ski resort reveals itself in a stunning confluence of raw limestone spires and steep, perfectly groomed ski slopes punctuated by spruces and firs. Set at the foot of Mt. La Varella, the little village of San Cassiano is sublime, offering direct access to legendary runs like the Gran Risa World Cup slope, one of the region’s most technically demanding slalom circuits.

The Aman Rosa Alpina is an Italian classic, but it’s even better as of 2025, after a stunning reimagining by architect Jean‑Michel Gathy to bring it into the family of Aman hotels, just in time for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Indeed, you may know it better as Rosa Alpina, the hotel made famous by the Pizzinini family, who have remained at the helm, ensuring the warmth and hospitality of a classic family-run hotel united with the distinctly lavish ethos of Aman. On entrance, an imposing double‑height lounge with view-framing windows and a fireplace, chic in all-black, invites lingering over pristine mountain views, while the spa has three pools and a series of treatments drawing inspiration from the mountains. 50 rooms act as contemporary sanctuaries, many with views even more impressive than the lounge and others with immersive forest vistas and large private terraces. Finishings are natural stones and timbers in a palette that echoes the hotel’s stunning surroundings.

Authentic Alpine Style ideal for Families

Severin’s The Alpine Retreat & Lech Am Arlberg, Austria

A royal escape awaits at Lech Am Arlberg, where everyone from the Dutch Royal family to Princess Diana has been spotted. While the skiing here is a little more laidback than the likes of Zermatt or Val d’Isère, Lech is a part of the Ski Arlberg region, Austria’s largest interconnected ski area, granting access to masses of varied terrain across Zürs, St. Christoph and St. Anton. Your base, Lech Am Arlberg, oozes mountain charm, with a historic onion-domed church, elegant boutiques, smoke curling from the hamlet’s storybook chimneys, and Schnitzel lunches served on bright terraces, followed by lashings of apfelstrudel… of course.

We recommend the enchanting Severin’s The Alpine Retreat for your luxury ski trip in Lech. The hotel is intentionally minimal and charming, with suites finished with antique wood from Tyrol forests, exquisite Minotti furnishings, and private terraces and balconies with cinematic mountain views. A Castle in the Rockies

Fairmont Banff Springs & Banff, Canada

The scenery in Banff is pure winter magic: snowcapped Rocky Mountain peaks rise in jagged clusters, reflected in pearly blue alpine lakes, linked to spruce forests by lush hiking trails that open to reveal stunning properties such as the Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, a castle in the heart of Banff National Park. Ski activities are numerous, with night skiing at Mt. Norquay, view-laden trails at Lake Louise and challenging terrains for skiing and snowboarding in Sunshine Village. The town of Banff has some phenomenal natural sights: notably the Vermillion Lakes, home to elk and bald eagles, and Sulphur Mountain, named for the hot springs at its base. You can snowshoe the mountain via the Cosmic Ray Road, or take a gondola directly to the top for exquisite vistas across a seemingly endless snow-capped topography.

The Fairmont Banff Springs hotel is one of Canada’s oldest and grandest hotels, and as with any property of its heritage, it has an illustrious list of former guests: from Churchill to Monroe, via innumerable royalty and celebrities. The hotel casts an ethereal silhouette, nestled amongst lush forests, posed as a vast castle of rugged stone and darkened turrets, in a perfect marriage of drama, grandiosity and luxury.
