Travel has had a fundamental influence on Emma’s life, both professionally and emotionally. In 2004 she was caught up in Sri Lanka’s devastating tsunami. “That really made me understand the value of travel and what it can do for people who need to reconnect with their loved ones – and themselves,” she says. “To come to terms with what happened, I spent two years travelling around Canada, India, Nepal and then finally returning to Sri Lanka to take a job with a boutique hotelier and my first foray into luxury hospitality.”
In the intervening period Emma has worked across the events, experiential, adventure and luxury sectors both in the UK and Singapore, has started a family, and now her ambitions have culminated in the start of her own business with 360 Private Travel. “I love coming up with the locations and experiences, working with amazing DMCs and hotels, and getting involved with the finer details of planning. I remain confident in the power of travel to change lives for the better – both for the client and also the local community and environment.”
